You don’t have to be a fan of architecture to appreciate this stunning building. The Atlanta Marriott Marquis is a 53 story hotel designed by John C. Portman, Jr in the heart of downtown Atlanta. It is the 14th tallest skyscraper in the city, and is known for its towering atrium. At the time of completion in 1985, the atrium was the largest in world, spanning 470 feet through the entire height of the building. From many angles, the building looks like a scene from a science fiction movie.
The Atlanta Marriott Marquis is located at 265 Peachtree Center Avenue NE. These photos were taken in October 2019.

Here’s a close up of some of the curves in the front atrium.
The atrium is divided by a bank of elevators in the center of the building.
The rear atrium is smaller and more intimate than the imposing front atrium.
