Travel: Carl Hayden Visitor Center at the Glen Canyon Dam, Page, AZ

Everyone goes to Page, AZ to see Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, but while you’re there, you might as well stop at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center just west of Page, AZ.  The visitor center itself has exhibits, films, a relief map of the area, a bookstore and also offers tours of the dam.  But you gotta love the views of the dam and the Colorado River.  Like many things, the story is best told in pictures.

This is a sculpture just outside the visitor center.

And the waterway flowing into the dam.

For a more complete view, here’s a panorama.  You can see the dam, the bridge and the surrounding area.

And when you are on the bridge itself, you get this great view of the Colorado River.

Definitely worth a stop in my opinion.
